Holiday centerpieces
Gorgeous centerpieces don't need to be expensive or super time consuming. When thinking of ideas for holiday centerpieces, it's pretty easy to play off of items that you probably already have within the walls of your house. How many of you have fake fruit on some accent table around your house? I know that I am guilty of succumbing to that easy decor accessory, but how about sprucing the fruit up a bit. I especially love using the red, yellow and green pears for holiday centerpieces; there's just something festive about them! Start by making a trip to your local Michael's, or any other craft store, and look in the jewel crafting aisle. Find any little faux gems, stickers or even glitter that meets your fancy. However, by far the easiest applicators I've found for this fun project are the adhesive jewel decals. They're beautifully designed and are already tacky enough to stick onto any surface. Click here to watch a simple tutorial on this method! Grab an old, wooden bowl or silver tray and display your freshly spruced up fruit!
The trendy yet always classic mason jars are also another wonderful multi- functional piece that can be used to create a seasonal centerpiece. Begin by looking around your home for a candle that meets the height and width necessary to fit inside of the mason jar. It doesn't have to be the requisite holiday colors of red or green; actually it looks pretty neat if it's patterned or multi colored. Purchasing a small bundle of faux cranberries or a sprig of pine is all you really need to buy for this one. Upon placing the candle inside the mason jar, sprinkle the cranberries inside the jar until it's about a quarter of the way filled. Intertwine the sprig of pine between the berries, and finish off the piece by wrapping a piece of twine or raffia around the lip of the jar, and voila!!

For most of us, desserts are essential when hosting an event, and let's be real, who leaves before the cake is cut? Our philosophy is that desserts serve many purposes. Not only do you get that sugar fix, they are also eye candy. Giving your dessert table that extra umph can razzle dazzle your guests and leave that lasting impression, leaving them craving more.

Bottega Louie - LA
My dear sweet sister brought me to Bottega Louie in Los Angeles recently. I must say I was a little bummed that I hadn't heard of this place sooner! I thought I knew all the cool spots in L.A. and this stunning restaurant / bakery has been around forever.
I instantly fell in love. The atmosphere and most of all the scrumptious desserts are eye catching and mouth watering. As an event designer / planner I was a kid in a candy store. The decadent desserts, elegant arrangements and attention to detail sets such an incredible standard for excellence.
I truly don't see how you could go wrong when considering Bottega Louie as a premier resource for your upcoming event!

Graduation Reputation!
From what I remember, graduation parties where so much fun. Lots of my friends running in and out of about 15 parties. They all happened on the same day, same time, but a different park. The fact is, they were all the same. For some kids, this was their 'bash'! Their reputations were on the line! Can you hear the dramatics?? So parents, you better come up big. It is time to break outta that '30 piece-party in a box' mode and be different! Have FUN with theme, color, food and decor. Just because they are graduating, does not mean all of their immature and silly habits are gone. I'm pretty sure mine linger and may surface at times. Ha! So say good bye to your firework looking streamers and cake with your graduates face on it. Here are a few pics of fun and different ideas to get those creative juices flowin'!

Venue Vanity! Anthology.
Venue Vanity - Part deux.
Anthology is one of our favorite venues in San Diego! The out- of- the- box concept of having a wedding here, is extremely relevant to what is "IN" right now. Don't get us wrong, we are all for maintaining tradition in our events, but we also LOVE the creative juxtaposition and unique flair that Anthology possesses.

The L.A. Flower Mart
So, naturally being San Diego residents, we normally shop the wholesale flower marts in our area, however, we recently had the privilege of working on an event in L.A. allowing for a new floral experience.
I must say that the quality, pricing and variety of flowers wasn't a vast difference from what we are used to down in SD, but all and all it was a fun trip and we were able to take some inspiring photos!
