Signature Drink for the Signature Party

In the special events industry, creating signature drinks is the 'it' thing to do.  Whether the drinks represent a theme, complement a certain color, are named after a guest of honor, or even a nod to a particular culture, a signature bev is a great way to distinguish oneself from other competitors, events or venues. Serving up signature drinks is also a great money saver when it comes to pondering whether or not to serve an open bar at certain events. Instead of offering guests everything you can find from Uncle Johnny's liquor cabinet, sticking to a couple of wines, beers and one or two signature drinks would save lots of cash that can be used toward a honeymoon or trip to Vegas! And serving the drinks in fun containers such as mason jars or open coconuts, adds a whole other element of fab and fun to the event! There are so many options when it comes to liquor choices, drink additions (such as edible flowers, syrups, flavored crystals, frozen grapes in lieu of ice cubes etc.), and mixers, individuals are easily able to create custom drinks that best express an individuals personality.  And signature drinks are not just for the adult beverage happy people either- there are quite a few tasty non- alcoholic signature  creations as well! Listed below are a few pics and recipes for some of our favorites.... Cheers!

(Non- alcoholic drinks)

Blushing Bride
5 oz sparkling cider
Splash of grenadine
Splash of lime juice
Garnish with a raspberry or maraschino cherry

Georgia Summer
1 cup frozen unsweetened sliced peaches
2 cups cold milk
2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
2 tablespoons honey
Fresh peach slices or mint
* Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with fresh peach slice or mint and serve soon!

(Alcoholic Drinks)

Birthday Cake Martini
1 ounce amaretto
1 1/2 ounces Pinnacle whipped cream vodka
1 1/2 ounces creme de cacao
1/2 ounce Godiva white chocolate liqueur
1 ounce heavy cream
assorted sprinkles
frosting
* Using your finger, coat the rim of your glass with frosting – make sure not to miss any spots! Dump sprinkles on a plate and press glass rim into sprinkles, pressing to adhere. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for about 30 seconds. Strain into glass and enjoy!

Black and Blue Mojito
1 tablespoon sugar
1 squeezed lime
10 blackberries
5 -6 mint leaves
1 ½ ounces run
1 ounce blue curacao
2 ounces club soda
* In a shaker, muddle mint leaves, blackberries, lime juice and sugar. Add rum, blue curacao and mix well. Add ice; shake 4-5 times and quickly strain over ice. Add club soda and stir well. Garnish with blackberries, lime or mint sprig.

Apple and Cinnamon infused Vodka
2 granny smith apples
2 red delicious apples (you may substitute your fave apples instead)
3 cinnamon sticks
Your favorite vodka (I like Russian standard for this recipe)
* Core and chop all 4 apples and add them to a mason or infusion jar.  Add all 3 cinnamon sticks to the jar.  Empty the bottle of vodka into the jar.  Allow to infuse for 5 days, then discard the apples and cinnamon. Refrigerated, this infusion can last up to one month.

* For a twist on the classic vodka drink, a Moscow Mule, add 2 ounces of your apple and cinnamon infused vodka to a tall glass with ice, and fill with good quality ginger beer (exp. Fever Tree, Barritts, or Regatta).
